Forget “us vs. them.” Circles of Trust is about “we vs. the challenge.”
Imagine a sports team. They don’t win by focusing on their opponent’s weaknesses. They win by harnessing their shared goals, their trust in each other, and their combined strengths.
That’s the power of Circles of Trust.
We bring together people from different backgrounds who share a common enemy: a challenge like poverty, hunger, or lack of education (aligned with the UN’s SDGs).
Instead of fighting each other, we fight together.
By building trust and leveraging each other’s strengths, Circles of Trust empowers communities to achieve remarkable outcomes. Common values become the foundation for collaboration, and success becomes the shared victory.
How It Works:
- Shared Values, Stronger Bonds: We focus on the SDGs because they represent common ground – the things we all believe are crucial for a better world. These shared values become the foundation of trust within the Circle.
- From Vision to Action: Circles provide a framework for turning vision into action. By focusing on specific SDGs, communities can identify their “enemy” – the challenges they need to overcome.
- Building Trust Over Time: As communities collaborate, trust deepens. Shared experiences and successes solidify the bonds within the Circle.

How We Collaborate In Nairobi
Circles of Trust: Imagine a city thriving because its communities are empowered to tackle challenges head-on. That’s the power of Circles of Trust. These micro-communities are the building blocks of our initiative, each focusing on a specific issue within their zone.
Think of them as SWAT teams – small, focused groups with diverse skillsets working together for a common goal.
Zones: Nairobi, with its unique strengths and challenges, is our starting point. We’ve segmented the city into manageable zones, each with its own set of priorities stemming from rapid urbanization. This allows Circles of Trust to tailor their solutions to the specific needs of each area.
Community Nexus: Collaboration is key. These designated meeting points provide a physical space for Circles of Trust to connect, brainstorm, and strategize. Think of them as war rooms or headquarters for each Circle, fostering a sense of community and shared purpose.
United We Stand: While Circles focus on specific issues, tackling complex challenges might require collaboration between groups. We encourage information sharing and cross-pollination of ideas across zones to maximize impact.
Why Nairobi?
Circles of Trust recognizes the importance of focusing efforts where they can have the greatest impact. With Nairobi Metropolitan Area being a major economic and cultural hub, filled with potential, it’s a natural starting point for our Circles of Trust initiatives.
By addressing challenges and fostering collaboration here, we can create a ripple effect of positive change throughout Kenya.
We start off by subdividing it into 4 major verticals here referred to as Nairobi East, Nairobi West, Nairobi North, and Nairobi South.
